Dan Kane Photography is a sponsor of Womanologie. Dan Kane’s photos capture more than just a face or a pose. They capture moments and spirit. Technical expertise with the camera is expected of photographers, but the ability to capture just the right expression is an art that is harder to develop. Dan has the artistic quality that allows the subjects’ true selves to be immortalized.

I think a good photograph should bring out pieces of the subjects’ personality. Shy, bold, pensive, or crazy, my goal is to capture the subject as they really are. I genuinely enjoy getting to meet new clients, learn about them and put their true selves in every image whether it’s at a wedding, event, or during a portrait session.

Dan will be Womanologie’s event photographer; capturing images of your night out. We will be posting photos on Facebook after the event. You can tag yourself and show how much fun you had.

Allie, of Analogue Chic, is going to be walking the runway in an original creation. Accepting the challenge to create fashion with a recycled theme, Allison McConnell is participating in Western Connecticut University’s Roots and Shoots club Green Gala.

Allison has created a special, up-cycled outfit just for the Roots and Shoots Green Gala. Roots and Shoots is Jane Goodall’s organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the natural environment. The WestConn club wanted to bring attention to recycling and local businesses.

The event is Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the WestConn Westside Campus Ball Room. Admission is a sugggested $5 donation. There will be live bluegrass music by the Stringfingers.

How excited can a group of people get? When we received word that Patty Lennon of Mom Gets a Life fame had agreed to be our keynote speaker, the Womanologie committee was thrilled! Since we are all moms, we have experienced the struggle of discovering what it means to be a great mom and trying to find a healthy balance of being there for our children every moment and finding time for ourselves. Or, as Patty says, learning to relax, reconnect, and reinvent.

What a great fit for Womanologie. Womanologie is designed for women to come together, have a great evening however you want to enjoy it by shopping with your friends or just enjoying some time chatting at the bar area, or listening and discovering new tips and techniques to make womanhood and motherhood more fun, or trying to fit as much of all three in as possible.

It is a wonderful way to escape the “to do” list and just have an evening for you.

Capellaro’s Grove Chef George is a local food fan. What does that mean for Womanologie? Farm fresh, in-season, local deliciousness.

Shortly before the event, Chef George will visit his favorite farmer’s market to see what is in season, and build his menu. Sounds delicious and wholesome. Great for localvores!
